DESIGN, PRINT & OUTDOOR ADVERTISING

대상 6편 선정… 빌보드 부문에 멕켄에릭슨  인디아의 ‘Burst Bubble Billboard’

전 세계 60개국에서 4,313편 출품… 인도의 괄목할만한 성과 눈길

 

칸, 클리오와 함께 세계 3대 광고제로 꼽히는 뉴욕페스티벌의 6개 경쟁부문 가운데 ‘디자인, 프린트&아웃도어 광고’ 부문 수상작이 지난 7월 말 발표됐다.

 

올해 이 부문에서는 전 세계 60개국에서 출품된 총 4,313편 가운데 독일이 1개의 대상과 17개의 금상을 휩쓸며 최고의 성적을 거뒀으며 영국이 1개의 대상과 7개의 금상으로 그 뒤를 이었다.

 

특히 인도가 5개의 금상을 휩쓰는 괄목할 만한 성과를 낸 점이 두드러진다.

 

수상작은 전 세계의 메이저 에이전시에서 활약하고 있는 80명의 크리에이티브 디렉터들의 온라인 투표로 결정됐다. 출품작은 공공서비스 광고, 게릴라 광고를 포함해 20개의 카테고리로 분류됐으며 각 카테고리는 매거진·신문, 패션 등 분야별로 다시 재분류됐다.  

 

아웃도어 광고의 주요 수상작들을 살펴본다.

Burst Bubble Billboard(부풀어 터지는 빌보드) - 빌보드

광고주·제품 : Big Babol Bubble Gum(풍선껌)

국        가 : 인도

빌보드 속 소년이 분 풍선껌이 터져 화면 밖으로 튀어나온 것처럼 연출해 ‘더 크게 잘 불어지는’ 풍선껌의 제품 컨셉을 강렬하게 전달하고 있다. 이 빌보드 광고는 지난 3월에 열린 아시아태평양광고제에서도 은상을 수상한 바 있다.

 

 

Wading Depth(건널 수 있는 깊이)

광고주·제품 : Volkswagen Touareg (폭스바겐 투아렉)

국        가 : 독일

‘The Touareg with 58cm wading depth.’

‘투아렉과 함께라면 58cm 깊이의 물에서도 운전할 수 있다’는 제품 컨셉을 조류를 활용해 설명하고 있는 빌보드 광고. 제방에 빌보드를 설치해 만조 때는 마치 차의 일부분이 물에 잠긴 것처럼 보인다.

 

 

 

Hands(손)

광고주·제품 : Zinema Zombie Second Season

국        가 : 콜롬비아

박물관 근처에 위치한 공원에 좀비의 손을 설치, 좀비를 주제로 한 전시인 ‘Zinema Zombie Second Season’을 홍보하고 있다.

 

 

 

Pepsodent Toothbrush

Window Cleaner(칫솔 창문닦이)

광고주·제품 :Pepsodent Toothbrush (칫솔)

국         가 : 인도네시아

오염 때문에 자카르타의 창문은 항상 더럽다. 청소하기 어려운 자카르타에서 가장 높은 건물의 창문 청소용 곤돌라에 칫솔 모형을 설치해 닦기 어려운 곳까지 잘 닦인다는 칫솔의 제품 컨셉을 효과적으로 전달하고 있다.

 

 

 

3 Hours(3시간)

국        가 : 인도

‘이걸 쓰는데 3시간 걸렸습니다.’하인즈 토마토 케찹이 얼마나 진한가를 설명하고 있다.

 

 

 

Green & Red Curry

광고주·제품 : Green Curry/Red Curry(카레)

국        가 : 일본

일본에서 가장 큰 음식회사인 하우스사가 두 가지의 신제품 ‘그린 & 레드 카레’를 내놓으면서 실시한 착시효과를 활용한 빌보드 광고.

붐비는 도로 옆 나무 바로 앞에 빌보드를 세워 나무의 잎사귀를 접시에 담긴 카레처럼 보이게 했다. 잎사귀들이 붉은색으로 변하는 가을이 되면 접시의 카레도 그린에서 레드로 변한다.

 

 

 

Stretchposter(늘어나는 포스터)

광고주·제품 : Kellogg\'s Special K(저지방 씨리얼)

국        가 : 독일

칼로리와 탄수화물 함량을 낮춘 ‘스페셜 K’라는 씨리얼 제품의 광고. 저지방의 아침과 가벼운 운동의 조합으로 균형 잡힌 다이어트가 가능하다는 점을 인상적으로 표현하기 위해 운동기구의 추에 늘어나는 포스터를 부착했다. 누군가가 추를 들어 올리면 포스터가 늘어나면서 포스터 속 여자의 몸매가 눈에 띄게 날씬하게 변한다.

 

 

 

Taxi Laundrette

광고주·제품 : Robijn Color(세제)

국        가 : 네덜란드

세제업체인 Robijn fashion은 색깔옷 세탁전용 세제를 출시하면서 택시를 활용한 이색광고를 선보였다. 바퀴가 움직이면 4개의 휠에 달린 세탁기가 옷, 세제와 함께 실제로 돌아간다.

 

 

 

Relocation(이사)

광고주·제품 :  Chrysler(크라이슬러)

국        가 : 오스트리아

크라이슬러 매장의 이전을 알리기 위해 빌딩 전체를 일반적인 이사용 박스처럼 래핑했다.

 

 

 

 

 

Home Delivery(집배달)

광고주·제품 :  McDonalds  

국        가 : 인도

맥도날드 마스코트인 ‘로널드 맥도날드’의 신발을 통해 맥도날드의 집배달 서비스를 드라마틱하고 인상적으로 표현하고 있다.

 

 

 

Autumn(가을)

광고주·제품 : La Maquinista Shopping Centre(쇼핑센터)

국        가  : 스페인

떨어지는 낙엽을 연상케 하는 시각적인 연출로 가을패션 시즌이 시작됐음을 알리고 있다.

 

 

 

 

Burnard Wall/Burnard Crashing

(버나드 벽/버나드 충돌)

광고주·제품 : 나이키 스피드

국        가 : 캐나다

케냐의 육상선수 버나드 라갓이 빌딩 숲, 버스 쉘터를 뚫고 지나간 자리가 파손된 것처럼 연출해 광고 컨셉인 ‘스피드함’을 임팩트하게 전달하고 있다.

 

 

 

Cat(고양이)

광고주·제품 : Blumarea - Scuba Diving School(잠수학교)

국        가 : 이탈리아

‘우리는 당신이 물을 좋아하게 만들 수 있습니다.’

잠수학교를 홍보하는 광고로, 고양이 눈가에 난 선명한 수경자국이 익살스럽다.
